Major Components Technician (Onshore Wind travelling UK) Working for an independent Service Provider offering a comprehensive service package for Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) from one single source. With more than 6,600 WTGs under contract and more than 1,800 employees operating in several European countries, the company has over 640 WTG’s/700MW under Service & Maintenance contracts, our aim being to expand further into both onshore and offshore markets. Our head office is located in Edinburgh.
Candidates will preferably have:
- Heavy lifting experience with main component exchange
- Slinger signaller certification
- Previous wind turbine experience
- Valid health and safety certificates
- IT proficient on MS Suite
- Experience of working under CDM

Your tasks:
- Replacement of turbine major components e.g. generators and gearboxes
- Supporting on all Engineering Projects
- Support of troubleshooting and service when not carrying out major component replacements.
- Lead a team of technicians ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed at all times
- Troubleshoot on mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
- Assist in all areas of site operations – including servicing when not on major components
- Ensure that all relevant tooling and equipment is certified and ready for use
- Comply with customer site rules
- Partake in rota for on call cover on weekends and bank holidays
- Communicate effectively to clients and all levels of the business
- Must be willing to travel regularly
